Prof. Dr. Jens Wüstemann
 

Course: Financial Accounting for International Business Leaders

 

Prof. Dr. Jens Wüstemann was born in 1970 in Mainz, Germany. He holds diplomas in business administration from Goethe-University (Frankfurt am Main, Germany) and from the Université Paris-IX Dau-phine (Paris, France). In 1997 he received his doctoral degree from the Goethe-University and completed his habilitation at the same university in 2000, both under the academic supervision of Prof. Dr.h.c.mult.A.Moxter. He spent several months as a visiting scholar/professor at Wharton School(1995), Stern School of New York University(1999) and ESSEC Business School, Paris(2006).


Since 2001 he represents the Chair for Accounting and Auditing at the University of Mannhiem, Mr. Wüstemann was co-director of the National Research Centre “Rationality Concepts” Sonderforschungsbereich504) and led a related research project. From 2003 to 2011 he has been Academic Director of ESSEC & Mannheim Executive MBA, since 2007 he is Academic Director of the Mannheim Executive Master of Accounting& Taxation. He is also member of the board of the Mannheim Business School. Mr. Wüstemann is member of Working Groups of the Accounting Standards Committee of Germany(DRSC) in Berlin and the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group(EFRAG) in Brussels. In 2007 Mr. Wüstemann was selected as a member of the Oversight Committee of the European Common Content Steering Group for Professional Accountancy Qualifications. From 2008 until 2011 he was an appointed member of the board of the Accounting Standards Committee of Germany. Having been a fellow himself he serves now as contact professor (Vertrauensdozent) for the German National Merit Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes).


In November 2010 Mr. Wüstemann started his 4-year team as President of Mannheim Business School.


Mr. Wüstemann is author of 2 scientific monographs, 5 textbooks (in multiple editions), legal commentaries, and numerous articles in national and international journals including Abacus, Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics (JITE), Journal of Corporation Law(J.C.L), European Accounting Review(EAR), Accounting in Europe(AinE), Zeitschrift für betriebswirtschaftliche Forschung(ZfbF), Zeitschrift für Betriebswirtschaft(ZfB) and Betriebswirtschaftliche Forschung und Praxis(BFuP).
